Qualified Charitable Distributions
A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate to HFMN directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions; this can help maximize your charitable impact and possibly reduce your taxable income.
Gifts in Lieu of Presents
Online fundraisers are a powerful way you can help HFMN. It’s personal and flexible – you can set one up for your birthday, a special event, or even a challenge like running a race. You share your page with your friends, family, and network, and invite them to give to HFMN. Find out more and how to start a fundraiser to support HFMN through Colorado Gives Fundraisers.
2026 Tax Update
Even if you take the standard deduction and do not itemize, you may be eligible for a universal charitable deduction for gifts made to HFMN. Individuals can deduct up to $1,000, and couples filing jointly up to $2,000, for direct cash donations to qualified nonprofits. Contributions made to donor advised funds (DAFs) are not included in this deduction.
Please consult your tax advisor to confirm eligibility and how this may apply to your personal tax situation.
