Home Front Military Network was honored to be featured as the charity spotlight of the night at the baseball game between the Rocky Mountain Vibes and the Idaho Falls Chukars in Colorado Springs on June 11th. HFMN was featured in the opening ceremonies, and many people visited our booth and learned about our mission. Thanks for stopping by!
A portion of every ticket purchased through our link was donated to HFMN. This will make a tremendous difference in the lives of the military and veteran families we serve. The theme of the evening was Army vs Air Force, and the crowd enjoyed various competitions during the innings breaks. We were proud to see the first pitch successfully thrown out by one of the veterans we serve: Andrew Roebuck. He took his turn on the mound, cheered on by Toasty, the s’more mascot of the Vibes.
In honor of our nation’s Armed Forces, the Barbarian Battery 2nd Battalion 77th Field Artillery Regiment conducted a six cannon salute. It was loud, and it got our hearts pumping! (We needed that adrenaline because the game lasted over four hours…)
This was the fifth game (game 14) of a six-game series. On Tuesday, June 7th, the Idaho Falls Chukars overcame the Rocky Mountain Vibes in a closer-than-it-sounds 17-9 loss. That was followed by a 21-6 loss for the Vibes on Wednesday, June 8th, another loss for the Vibes (13-6) on June 9th, and a Vibes win (9-5) on June 10th. The Chukars again trounced the Vibes on Saturday, June 11th with a final score of 25-17, but on that night, we didn’t worry about the score – it was a proud occasion to experience America’s pastime honoring America’s heroes.
