Home Front Military Network experienced another year of high call volumes and significant impact supporting service members, veterans, and their families. First, our education & outreach activities grew in 2024; HFMN participated in 465 outreach events, reaching more than 11,000 service members, veterans, and family members – a 13% increase above 2023. We also facilitated 11 trainings for HFMN partners, with nearly 500 partner agency representatives participating in these trainings, helping HFMN and our partners better understand the unique needs of our military and veteran community, and providing resources and tools to better assist those in need. HFMN’s partner network now includes 52 agencies committed to collaboration and collective impact to better assist our military and veteran community.
The direct assistance HFMN provides continues to increase. Our call volume remains high, with our case management team handling more than 17,000 calls for assistance in 2024. While our overall call volume was similar to 2023, in 2024, the percentage of callers needing longer term navigation support increased to 87% of all callers. The majority of individuals and families that HFMN assists have multiple and complex needs, and our case management teams works to address the needs of the whole family, often making referrals to multiple agencies – and sticking with our clients as long as we are needed. HFMN made more than 5,000 referrals last year, and assisted more than 5,500 service members, veterans, and family members. Additionally, we provided more than $250,000 in emergency financial assistance, keeping 187 households from becoming homeless or without other basic needs. In 2024, 87% of the clients we served had incomes that were below 80% of the area median income, leading to increased challenges in addressing all of their needs. However, HFMN and our partners are committed to working together to support those who have sacrificed so much for us. We are grateful to our partners, sponsors, and donors, as we collaborate to addressing increasingly complex needs. Thanks to you, we are able to help veterans like Brad, who shared, “HFMN is an incredible resource for vets their representatives are kind, patient, and resourceful. I’m truly very grateful for having access to such a wonderful resource!” We look forward to working with you all to better serve our military and veteran community in 2025!
