It has been hot here in Colorado! REALLY HOT! Well, if you are tired of sitting around your home and would rather go do something in air conditioning or enjoy the cooler evenings out and have fun, Home Front Military Network has put together some upcoming events in Colorado Springs that are not only fun, but also help fund the resources for our Active Duty, Veterans, and their family members.
August 9, 2023, Military Resource Fair at 5:00 PM and Soccer Match at 7:00 PM
Come on out and enjoy a cool evening at Weidner Field where Colorado Springs Switchbacks Football Club will be co-hosting a Military Resource Fair with the Home Front Military Network before taking on the Tulsa Roughnecks for a Military Resource Fair. This will be an opportunity for military service members, both Active Duty and Veterans, to find and connect with local partners that are within their community. Tickets are $24 which will include access to the resource fair, seats for the soccer match, and food that will be provided by Pizza Hut. Come out and meet new folks, collaborate with the Veteran Services within the community, and cheer on the Switchbacks! Enjoy the air-conditioned Boot Barn Hall for the benefit concert in collaboration between the musical group The SofaKillers and the HFMN. The concert starts at 7:00 pm, but the doors open at 5:00 pm. General admission tickets are $49 per person. The SofaKillers are the most versatile cover band in southern Colorado. Based out of Colorado Springs, they play high energy pop, rock, country, southern rock, classic rock, and funk from the 70’s to current. At any given gig you can hear songs from your favorite artists, such as Journey, Def Leppard, Queen, Brooks & Dunn, Earth Wind and Fire, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and many, many more. The Boot Barn Hall is an awesome venue and the SofaKillers play there quite often and are always happy to be hosted by Boot Barn. They have a dance floor and a great staff. Do you want to feel the wind in your face after this heat? IFly Colorado Springs will be hosting the HFMN where if you come out and fly, a portion of the proceeds will go towards our organization and towards helping our service members, veterans, and families to receive the support and resources they deserve. Now that it has hopefully started to cool down from all that summer heat, the HFMN will be hosting their hallmark event for the year at The Broadmoor International Center. The Honoring the Brave Breakfast is a fundraiser to help facilitate Home Front Military Network’s ability to provide emergency financial bridge support and connect military service members, veterans, and their families to the many resources available to them in Colorado. Your support will provide vital resources to expand HFMN’s capacity to meet the needs of our military and veteran community. Raising over $200,000 in 2022, this is HFMN’s largest fundraising event.
